She explains that she is fine when she drinks it black, but if she put cream or sugar or both in her coffee, it gives her a stabbing pain in her eye. Left eye sometimes, right other times. She says she doesn't have an aversion to cream or sugar or both together, that it must be the coffee.  The doctor looks in her eyes shake his head and laughs, "Darling, try taking the spoon out after you stir in your cream and sugar!"
